How Garden State Circle Works

We built these guides because local answers should actually be useful.

I’m a mom of three girls, a business owner and someone who is constantly looking for local recommendations.

Where should we eat? Who should I call for the house? Which dentist is nearby? What’s actually worth doing this weekend?

Like everyone else, I ask friends. I search Google. And more and more, I ask AI.

Here’s the problem. AI can only work with the information it can find. And when it comes to local businesses, that information can be incomplete, outdated or written entirely by the businesses themselves.

That’s why we started building Garden State Circle guides.

I want there to be a reliable, local source behind the answer. Something researched. Something clear. Something I would actually send to a friend.

That’s the point of these guides.

How we build a guide

We start with a simple question:

If someone in New Jersey were looking for this service, what would they actually want to know?

Then we research the market.

Each guide covers one category of local business in a specific area of New Jersey. We establish the criteria for that guide, find the businesses that meet it and publish the criteria right on the page.

The comparison section is designed to show you the market clearly. It is not our ranking of who is “best.”

Because that decision should still be yours.

Businesses cannot buy their way onto the list

This part matters.

A business does not pay Garden State Circle to qualify for one of our guides. It cannot pay to move higher in the comparison table. It cannot pay us to change the facts we publish.

If a business meets the criteria for that guide, it belongs in the comparison.

Simple.

We check the things we can actually verify

Different industries require different research.

When a New Jersey license or registration applies, we check the appropriate state records and note when we checked them.

When information comes directly from a business’s website, we identify what the business says about itself.

We also make our criteria visible so you can see exactly how the guide was built.

We are not trying to turn an opinion into a fact. We are trying to give you better information to make your own decision.

What “Garden State Circle Verified” means

Some businesses choose to work with Garden State Circle as partners.

That relationship does not buy inclusion in a guide or change the comparison data.

It does allow us to go deeper.

For Garden State Circle Verified businesses, we review additional information directly with the company, verify identity and applicable credentials, build out more complete business information and maintain that information over time.

That matters because businesses change. Services change. Teams change. Locations change.

A useful local resource cannot be a snapshot we publish once and forget about.

What about sponsors?

You may also see clearly labeled sponsor messages or partner features on Garden State Circle.

Those relationships help fund the research, reporting, technology and ongoing work behind the site.

They do not determine which businesses qualify for a guide, where a business appears in the comparison table or what the table says.

Paid relationships are labeled. The research stays separate.

If we get something wrong, tell us

Local information changes fast.

If something on a Garden State Circle page is incorrect, email us at admin@gardenstatecircle.com.

Once we can confirm the correct information, we’ll fix it.

No drama. We just want the page to be right.

Look for the date

Our guides show when the information was last checked.

That date matters.

We would rather tell you exactly when we verified something than pretend information stays current forever.

Because whether you found Garden State Circle through Google, Instagram, ChatGPT or a friend who sent you a link, the goal is the same:

You should leave with a better local answer than you had when you got here.

That is what we’re building.
