The Guide: Indoor Play Spaces in Somerville, NJ
How to Use This Guide
This guide lists the indoor play spaces in Somerville and Hillsborough where a parent can walk in and buy a play session for a child, and a second table of the ones within a short drive in Manville, Branchburg, the rest of Somerset County and the nearest towns in Middlesex and Hunterdon. Each row is one venue: what kind of place it is, the ages it publishes, the days and hours it opens for open play, what a session costs, its sock and adult rules, and whether it hosts birthday parties.
Hours and prices are the figures each venue publishes on its own website, in the venue’s own words shortened to a standard form. Where a venue runs open play in named sessions or posts its hours on a calendar instead of a weekly schedule, the cell says so and you should check the venue’s calendar before you drive. Hours change with the season, the school calendar and the party schedule, and the Record checked column shows the month we read each page.
Type tells you what kind of play it is. Soft play is a padded climbing structure with slides and ball pits for younger children. Bounce is inflatables. Trampoline and mixed parks sell tickets by height as well as age; the Ages column prints what each one says. Party-only venues, classes, arcades, bowling, climbing gyms and rinks are not on this page.
About This Guide
This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Indoor play spaces appear here because they meet the criteria described above — a venue at a street address in Somerville · Hillsborough that publishes walk-in open play for children on its own website or its own Google Business Profile, as a schedule or a session price. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No business can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the table says about it. Businesses are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each business’s own website or Google Business Profile in October 2026.
Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business.

Common Questions
Which of these are in Somerville itself?
None. The one local row is Space Play Academy, at 315 Roycefield Road in Hillsborough. The closest rows in the second table are the Kids Empire park in Manville and the PlayMaze inside Branchburg Sports Complex.
Do adults pay?
It depends on the venue, and the Socks / adults column prints each one’s rule. Space Play Academy and the Kids Empire parks include two adults in a child’s admission; Bounce Air and Urban Air sell a separate parent ticket if the adult wants to play; Nex Level Ninja’s open gym is for children and adults and publishes no adult rule; the other rows print what each venue publishes.
Do we need special socks?
Every venue on this page that publishes a rule requires socks on the play floor, and most sell them at the desk. Some of the trampoline parks require their own branded grip socks and do not accept socks from another park; the column prints what each one says.
What does “by session” or “Calendar on site” mean?
Some venues run open play in timed sessions — a 90-minute open jump, a two-hour play slot — and post the times on a calendar or booking page rather than a fixed weekly schedule. For those rows the hours cell points you to the venue’s calendar, and the price is the published price of one session.
Why are the ages so different from one row to the next?
Because each venue sets its own. Soft play venues publish an age range; trampoline and adventure parks publish a height, or a minimum age for the bigger attractions, and some publish no range at all. The Ages column prints the venue’s own phrase and says Not published where there is none.
