Orthodontists Near Allentown, NJ

The Guide: Orthodontists Near Allentown, NJ

How We Selected These Practices

Jump to the table ↓

Every practice on this page has an orthodontic office within 15 miles of Allentown, and at least one named orthodontist whose New Jersey dental license the state register showed as Active on Oct 18 2026, and whose orthodontic specialty is on a public record — the residency programme named by the American Association of Orthodontists locator, the residency programme published on the practice’s own website, or the specialty registered against that dentist on the federal provider registry. That is a test, not a judgment. Practices are listed alphabetically.

No orthodontic practice with an office in Upper Freehold Township, Millstone Township (Monmouth), Allentown or Roosevelt meets these tests. The practices below are the nearest that do, within 15 miles of Allentown.

A general dental practice that offers braces or clear aligners is not an orthodontic practice and is not on this page, whatever it is labelled elsewhere. That distinction is the whole point of the guide: an orthodontist has completed a residency in orthodontics after dental school, and a dentist has not.

About This Guide

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Practices appear here because they meet the criteria described above — an orthodontic office within 15 miles of Allentown and at least one named orthodontist with an Active New Jersey dental license and an orthodontic specialty on a public record. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No practice can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Practices are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each practice’s own website, the American Association of Orthodontists locator and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register in October 2026.

Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Every detail here was verified on the date shown on this page. Nothing on this page is medical advice. Every treatment described here carries risks that depend on your own health and history, and the person to discuss them with is a licensed provider who has examined you.

Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Tiffany and Jake Slowinski and covers Upper Freehold Township, Millstone Township (Monmouth), Allentown and Roosevelt. Contact the publisher at jake@gardenstatecircle.com. How every guide is made, in one place: how every guide is made.

What This Guide Cannot Tell You

It cannot tell you what your treatment will cost, how long it will take, or which practice is right for your child. Orthodontic fees are quoted case by case and almost nobody publishes them, so there is no price column here and any figure we printed would be invented. It also cannot tell you who will actually be at the chair at each visit: two of these practices have more than one orthodontist, and one has three offices. Ask when you book.

What the Register Statuses Mean

The license column carries what the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register returned for each named orthodontist on Oct 18 2026, by name search under Dentistry: the dental license, and the specialty permit where the register holds one.

  • Active — the license was current on the date we checked.
  • Inactive or Expired — the register did not show a current license on the date we checked. That is a fact about the register on one day. It is not a claim that anyone is practising without a license, and it is exactly the kind of thing a practice can correct in a line of email.
  • Not found by us — we searched and did not find a record. That is a statement about our search.

Every orthodontist in the tables below returned an Active license. Where a practice names a doctor whose record was not Active or was not found by us, that doctor is not printed in the table.

A Note on Reading the Table

The residency column names the programme the practice’s own website publishes for that doctor. Not published means we read the practice’s site and it names no programme for that doctor. It is a statement about what is published, not about the doctor.

The board-certification column reads Yes only where the practice’s own website states certification by the American Board of Orthodontics. Where a site states board certification without naming the board, the cell reads Not found by us, and the claim is quoted in the practice’s entry instead. Board certification is voluntary, and an orthodontist without it has still completed the same residency.

Common Questions

What is the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist who does braces?

An orthodontist has completed a residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics after dental school — two or three years of full-time specialist training. A general dentist has not. Both may be licensed to straighten teeth in New Jersey. Search results and business listings frequently label general dental practices as orthodontists, which is why the residency column on this page exists.

What does board certified mean here?

It means the orthodontist has been certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, which is a separate voluntary examination taken after the residency. It is not the license, and it is not required to practise.

How do I check a license myself?

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs publishes a licensee search. Search under Dentistry by the dentist’s last name. The record shows the license number, the status and the town on file.

Why is there no price column?

Because orthodontic fees are quoted case by case, and a column built from quotes we gathered privately would not be the same measure for every row.

Verified

Verified means we checked identity, licence and published details - not service quality or results.

Every detail on this page was checked on October 18, 2026 against each practice’s own website, the American Association of Orthodontists locator, and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register.
