The Guide: Electricians in Manasquan, NJ

How to Use This Guide

In New Jersey, electrical work is licensed twice over: the company holds an electrical business permit, and the state issues that permit on the license of a named person, the licensed electrical contractor of record. This guide lists the electrical companies with an address in Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake or Wall Township, and what each one prints about its license.

For each company, the table gives where it is based and the license number as its own website prints it. The two state register columns read Not yet checked until we run the state search for these companies. Where a company does not say, the cell reads Not published.

Eleven companies give an address in these towns. The table is in alphabetical order and is not a ranking.

How We Selected These Companies

A company appears in this guide if it does residential electrical work and gives an address in Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake or Wall Township on its own website or Google Business Profile.

About This Guide

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Electrical companies appear here because they meet the test described above — a company does residential electrical work and gives an address in Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake or Wall Township on its own website or Google Business Profile. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No business can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Businesses are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was checked against each business’s own website or Google Business Profile in October 2026.

Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a check date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business.

Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Tiffany and Jake Slowinski and covers Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Wall Township. Contact the publisher at jake@gardenstatecircle.com. How every guide is made, in one place: how every guide is made.

Towns and license numbers are each company’s own, taken from its own website or Google Business Profile in October 2026. The business permit and the contractor of record come from the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs register; those cells read Not yet checked until we run that search for these companies. Confirmed by the business carries what a company tells us directly about EV charger and generator work, dated; it is empty until a company answers. Not published means the source we read does not say.

Common Questions

How do I check whether a New Jersey electrician is licensed?

Go to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs license verification system at newjersey.mylicense.com and run two searches. In the Business Search, set the profession to Electrical Contractors and the license type to Electrical Business Permit, and search by company name or town; the result gives you the company’s permit number and whether it is active. Then take the six digits in the middle of that number, switch to the Person Search, set the license type to Electrical Contractor, and search by license number 34EI followed by those digits and 00; the result gives you the name of the licensed contractor the permit was issued on, and whether their license is active. Both searches are free and take about a minute together.

What is the difference between the license and the business permit?

The electrical contractor license is issued to a person who has passed the state examination, and the business permit is issued to a company on that person’s license. New Jersey requires an electrical contracting company to hold both. The person is the qualifier; the company cannot operate without one, and one licensed contractor can qualify only one company at a time.

Why is the number a company publishes shorter than the state’s?

The state’s permit is twelve characters — 34EB, six digits, then 00 — but most companies publish only the digits in the middle. “License # 13346” is 34EB01334600.

I looked up the number my electrician published and the register shows a company that is closed. What does that mean?

Most likely that you are looking at a company he used to qualify, not at a problem. The permit number belongs to the licensed contractor rather than to the business. New Jersey allows one licensed contractor to qualify only one business at a time, so when a contractor leaves one company for another, the same number is issued to the new company and the old one is marked Closed or Withdrawn. The row that matters is the active one, and there should only ever be one of those. If the number you were given returns an active company that is not the company you are talking to, that is worth asking about.

Does New Jersey license journeyman electricians?

No. New Jersey registers journeyman electricians and apprentices through the same board, and licenses electrical contractors. A journeyman on the job is registered, not licensed, and the license behind the work belongs to the contractor of record. The state does not issue a “master electrician” credential at all.

A company published a New Jersey license number that starts 13VH. Is that the electrical license?

No. 13VH is a Home Improvement Contractor registration, which nearly every contractor working on New Jersey homes has to hold, and it is issued by a different part of the Division of Consumer Affairs. It says nothing about electrical qualification. The electrical credentials are 34EB for the company and 34EI for the person.

When was this page last checked?

Every row was checked against the company’s own website or Google Business Profile in October 2026. If something here is wrong or has changed, the note at the end of the guide says how to tell us.

Who Governs Electrical Work in Manasquan, NJ

Electrical work in New Jersey answers to two state agencies with confusingly similar names, and they do different things. The license belongs to the Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors, part of the Division of Consumer Affairs — (973) 504-6410 — which issues the electrical contractor license and the business permit described above. The permit for the job belongs to the Uniform Construction Code, N.J.A.C. 5:23, written by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards — (609) 292-7899 — and enforced by each municipality’s own construction office. New Jersey adopted new editions of its construction subcodes on August 17, 2026; the electrical subcode is the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, 2023 edition (N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.16) — the one subcode in the set that is not a 2024 code — per the Division’s current-codes table, read September 2, 2026.

This guide covers Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Wall Township, and each is its own municipality with its own construction office. We have not yet opened those offices and do not list them here; the state search above works in every one of them, and the permit office is found on each town’s own website.

Fee schedules are adopted by ordinance and change. Whether a particular job needs a permit is interpreted by the town’s own construction office, not by us. Confirm with the office before you rely on anything here, and if any of it has changed, the correction address at the foot of this page is the fastest way to tell us.

Something out of date?

This guide is maintained. If anything here is wrong or has changed — a license, an address, or whether they still do that trade — tell us and we will check it. Businesses listed here are welcome to write in directly, and a company that publishes a license number we have recorded as absent is exactly the kind of correction we want.

And if you run an electrical company that should be on this list and is not, write to us. The test is the same one every company in the table cleared: that you do residential electrical work and give an address in Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake or Wall Township on your own website or Google Business Profile. Show us that and you go on the page.
