Hair Salons in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains, NJ
By Tiffany Slowinski
Morristown has no shortage of salons.
Which sounds helpful until you are actually trying to choose one.
Then suddenly you are 42 Instagram accounts deep comparing blondes, bobs, balayage, extensions and something called “lived-in color” while trying to remember what you originally searched for.
This guide is here to pull you back.
If you are looking for hair salons in Morristown, Morris Township or Morris Plains, start with the result you want instead of the salon you have heard of.
That sounds obvious.
Women absolutely do not do it.
We ask a friend, “Where do you get your hair done?” even though she has fine blonde hair and we have thick dark curls.
Her stylist may be incredible.
She may also be incredible at the exact opposite of what you need.
So get specific.
Are you looking for a haircut?
Balayage?
Blonde highlights?
Dimensional brunette color?
Gray coverage?
Gray blending?
Extensions?
Curly hair expertise?
Keratin or smoothing treatments?
A blowout?
Formal hair?
Bridal styling?
Color correction because we are not discussing what happened last weekend?
Now we have a search.
For color, the portfolio matters.
Look at the stylist’s actual work, not just the salon’s overall feed. Stylists often develop specialties and aesthetics of their own.
If you want a bright blonde, look for it.
If you want soft, expensive-looking brunette color, make sure brunettes exist in the portfolio.
If you are trying to blend gray instead of cover it completely, look for that work specifically.
And if you are over 40 and feel like your hair has decided to change texture, density and personality without consulting you, bring that into the conversation too.
The haircut and color that worked 10 years ago may not be what works now.
That does not mean you need “older woman hair.”
Absolutely not.
It means the stylist should understand the hair currently attached to your head.
There is also lifestyle.
Morristown is one of those places where you may want a salon that can handle your regular color appointment and also save you before a wedding, dinner, gala, headshot, reunion or whatever else suddenly appears on the calendar.
If blowouts and formal styling matter, look for them.
If Sunday availability matters, check it.
If you need early or late appointments, check that before falling in love with the salon online.
A salon you cannot book is not your salon.
This Garden State Circle guide helps women compare hair salons in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains based on what each salon publishes about its services and the New Jersey shop-license record.
The guide is not a ranking.
Because “best hair salon in Morristown” depends heavily on what you are asking someone to do.
Use it if you are searching for hair salons Morristown NJ, best salon for balayage Morristown, blonde specialists, brunette color, gray blending, gray coverage, curly hair salons, women’s haircuts, hair extensions, blowouts, keratin treatments, bridal hair, formal styling or color correction.
Then look at the stylist.
Ask about the maintenance.
Ask about the price.
Book the consultation when the change is big.
And bring the photos.
The good ones and the bad ones.
Especially the bad ones.
Sometimes “please never do this again” is extremely useful creative direction.
We did the homework here.

About This Guide
This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Salons appear here because they meet the criteria described above – a hair salon as the business describes itself on its own website, with a street address it publishes in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains, and an Active shop license on the state register at that address. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No business can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Businesses are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each business’s own website and the license register of the State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling, Division of Consumer Affairs, in September 2026. The license column reports the state’s shop license on the register on the date shown and nothing else.
Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labeled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently – that is a fact about our work, not about the business.

Something out of date?
This guide is maintained. If anything here is wrong or has changed — a name, an address, hours, or ownership — tell us and we will check it. Businesses listed here are welcome to write in directly, and a business that publishes a detail we have recorded as Not published is exactly the kind of correction we want.
And if you run a hair salon that should be on this list and is not: the test is the same one every business here cleared — that you lead with hair in your own published words, that your premises sit somewhere in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains, and that the shop holds an active New Jersey shop license at that address. Show us that and you go on the page.
