There are some appointments you can schedule based on convenience.

Pediatric dentistry is one where I would spend a little more time on fit.

Because if your child loves the office, life gets easier.

If your child is terrified of the office, six months comes around alarmingly fast.

If you are searching for a pediatric dentist in Chatham, Madison, Florham Park, Harding Township or Long Hill, this guide is meant to help parents compare actual pediatric specialists before choosing.

The difference matters.

A family dentist may treat children.

A pediatric dentist is a specialist, and for the practices in this guide we checked the named dentists against the New Jersey register for an active dental license and the pediatric specialty permit required by our criteria.

We also pulled together the information parents tend to search for separately.

Board certification when published.

Pediatric residency.

Sedation services when published.

How new patients start.

That gives you the factual layer.

Then comes the mom layer.

How does the office handle a child who is nervous?

What happens during a first visit?

Does the dentist talk to the child or mostly talk over them to the parent?

Can the team slow down if the child needs it?

Does the office see children with special needs?

What ages are accepted?

Does the practice continue seeing teenagers?

Those questions may tell you more about fit than a beautiful website.

For younger children, I would ask what the practice considers a successful first appointment.

Parents want the cleaning, exam, X-rays and perfect behavior.

The toddler may want to sit in the chair for 90 seconds and then leave.

You want to understand how the office bridges that gap.

For an anxious child, be specific when you call.

“She is scared of needles.”

“He had a bad experience somewhere else.”

“She does much better if people explain what they are going to do before they do it.”

That helps the office prepare.

For a child with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities or another special need, ask directly what accommodations the practice offers and how it structures those visits.

No two kids need exactly the same thing.

Sedation is another area where parents naturally want information.

The guide records it when a practice publishes it, but this is not something to self-select from a table.

If sedation becomes relevant to your child’s care, ask the pediatric dentist what is being recommended, why, what alternatives exist and what to expect.

Then there is the calendar.

Can you get there after school?

How far out are new-patient visits?

Can siblings be booked conveniently?

Does the office offer online appointment requests?

What happens if there is a dental emergency?

You are choosing a relationship, not a one-time appointment.

This guide is useful if you are searching for pediatric dentists Chatham NJ, pediatric dentist Madison NJ, kids dentist Florham Park, children’s dentist near Harding Township, pediatric dentist near Long Hill, toddler dentist, dentist for anxious children, special-needs pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry for kids or board-certified pediatric dentist near me.

The perfect pediatric dentist is not the one every parent in town uses.

It is the one your child can build trust with.

That may take one visit.

It may take a few.

Either way, it is worth starting with better information.

We did the homework here.

The Guide: Pediatric Dentists in Chatham and Madison, NJ

How We Selected These Pediatric Dentists

This guide covers Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Madison, Florham Park, Harding Township, Long Hill Township (Stirling, Millington and Gillette).

A practice is on this page when it has a pediatric dentistry office in one of those towns and at least one named dentist whose New Jersey dental license the state register showed as Active on September 23, 2026, and who holds a pediatric specialty permit on that register at that office’s town, primary or branch, or a legacy specialty permit that the practice’s own words tie to pediatric dentistry. That is a test, not a judgment. Practices are listed alphabetically.

Where fewer than six practices in these towns met the criteria, the nearest practices that met the same criteria are listed in a second table, each with the town it is based in.

About This Guide

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Practices appear here because they meet the criteria described above — a pediatric dentistry office in the towns named above and at least one named dentist with an Active New Jersey dental license and a pediatric specialty permit. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No practice can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Practices are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each practice’s own website and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register in September 2026.

Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business. Nothing on this page is medical advice. Every treatment described here carries risks that depend on your own health and history, and the person to discuss them with is a licensed provider who has examined you.

Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Tiffany and Jake Slowinski and covers Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Madison, Florham Park, Harding Township, Long Hill Township (Stirling, Millington and Gillette). Common Questions

How do I check a license myself?

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs publishes a licensee search under Dentistry. Search by the dentist’s last name. The record shows the license number, the status and the town on file.

Verified

Verified means we checked identity, licence and published details - not service quality or results.

Every detail on this page was checked on September 23, 2026 against each practice’s own website and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register.
