Looking for an HVAC Company in West Morris? Start Here

There are few things that make you care about HVAC companies faster than an air conditioner quitting during a New Jersey heat wave. Same goes for waking up in January and realizing the house feels suspiciously like the garage.

If I were searching for an HVAC company in West Morris, I would not start by asking who has the biggest company or the most polished website. I’d start with: Who actually services my town, works on the system I have and will come out for the problem I need fixed?

Because “HVAC” covers a lot. Air conditioning repair. Furnaces. Boilers. Heat pumps. Mini-splits. Ductwork. Full system replacements. Maintenance. A company can technically be an HVAC contractor without being equally focused on every one of those things.

The next question I’d ask is whether they actually repair systems or primarily want to replace them. If my AC stops cooling, I want someone willing to diagnose the problem before I start mentally spending $15,000. Sometimes the answer really is a new system. Sometimes it isn’t.

I also care about smaller service calls. Homeowners search for things like “AC repair near me,” “someone to fix my furnace” or “HVAC company that works on mini-splits.” That is very different from shopping for an entirely new heating and cooling system, and a company’s website does not always make the distinction terribly clear.

Then there is emergency service. If your heat goes out overnight or your AC dies on the hottest Saturday in July, knowing who advertises 24-hour or emergency service matters. We use what the companies themselves publish rather than assuming availability.

And yes, I care whether they are actually local. Some HVAC companies in these guides have offices right in the towns they serve. Others are based farther away and regularly work here. HVAC is a service business. The more useful question is usually not “What town is their office in?” It is “Do they regularly come to my town and handle my type of system?”

I also want to know who is legally behind the work. In New Jersey, heating and cooling companies operate under a Master HVACR contractor’s license held by an individual. The license itself is not a review or a quality rating. It is simply one of the few pieces of information about an HVAC company that can be independently checked.

So we checked it. The guide below shows what each company publishes about its HVAC license and, where we could check it, the person attached to that license in the state record. When a company does not publish the information or we could not confirm it, we say that too.

This is not our ranking of the “best HVAC companies in West Morris.” Frankly, that would not be very useful. Someone with a 25-year-old boiler has a different problem than someone looking for a heat pump, a new central air system or somebody willing to fix an AC unit that picked the absolute worst weekend of the year to stop working.

Use the guide below the way I would. Figure out who serves your town. Look at what they actually specialize in. Check the licensing information. Look at emergency availability if that matters. Then call the companies that make sense for your specific problem. Less guessing. More actual information.

How We Selected These HVAC Contractors

Jump to the table ↓

We looked for HVAC contractors who hold an active New Jersey Master HVACR Contractor license with the Division of Consumer Affairs and who perform work for homeowners in Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Chester Borough and Chester Township. HVAC contractors travel to the job rather than working from a storefront and are not gated on having an office in these towns, so a company was included on a stated service area naming one of these towns, or naming Morris County among the areas it serves — the basis on which Integrate Comfort Systems and Perfection Contracting, Inc. are on this page.

About This Guide

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. HVAC contractors appear here because they meet the criteria described above — holding an active New Jersey Master HVACR Contractor license and performing work in these towns. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No business can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Businesses are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each business’s own website and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs in September 2026.

Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business.

Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Jake Slowinski and Tiffany Slowinski, and covers Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Chester Borough and Chester Township. Contact the publisher at jake@gardenstatecircle.com. How every guide is made, in one place: how every guide is made.

Common Questions

Does an HVAC contractor need to have an office in Mendham or Chester to be on this page?

No. HVAC contractors travel to the job rather than working from a storefront, so this page includes companies whose own website names one of these towns, or names Morris County among the areas served, whether or not their premises sit inside Mendham or Chester.

What does a Master HVACR Contractor license cover?

It is the New Jersey credential the Division of Consumer Affairs issues to a named individual who has met the state’s HVACR contracting requirements. A company can hold the license in its own name only through a named holder, and the record we publish is that holder’s name, license number, status and the date we checked it.

Why does one company’s license holder not match the name on its own website?

New Jersey’s HVACR license belongs to a named person, and the person the state has on file is not always the name a company markets under. We print the register’s own name rather than guessing which employee it might be.

Is Mendham the same place as Mendham Township?

No. Mendham Borough and Mendham Township are two separate municipalities with their own governments, and this guide covers both, along with Chester Borough and Chester Township.

Who Governs HVAC Work in Mendham and Chester, NJ

HVAC contracting in New Jersey is licensed by the Division of Consumer Affairs, which issues the Master HVACR Contractor license referenced above to a named individual; permits for the mechanical work itself are issued locally under the Uniform Construction Code, administered by each municipality’s own construction office under the state’s Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards.
