New Jersey weather is very good at exposing a bad driveway.

Water gets into a weak area.

It freezes.

It expands.

Winter ends and suddenly a crack that seemed harmless has developed ambitions.

If you are searching for a paving contractor in Morris County, I would start with something less exciting than asphalt color or driveway edging.

Water.

Where does it go?

Because drainage and base preparation are a huge part of whether a driveway performs well over time, especially through repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

If water is sitting on the driveway, running toward the garage, collecting at the bottom of a slope or getting trapped along the edges, I want that discussed before the new paving starts.

A perfectly smooth new surface does not solve a grading problem simply by being new.

The same goes for a weak base.

If sections of the driveway are sinking, heaving or breaking apart, ask what the contractor believes is happening underneath.

Does the existing asphalt need to be removed?

Can it be resurfaced?

Is the base stable?

Does more stone need to be added and compacted?

Does the grade need to change?

Do drainage issues need to be handled first?

These are not glamorous questions.

They are the entire project.

Morris County homes also create very different driveway jobs.

A short suburban driveway in Madison is not the same paving project as a longer sloped driveway in Mendham, Chester or Kinnelon.

A steep driveway changes drainage.

A long driveway changes the amount of material and base preparation.

A property with walls, Belgian block, gates or complicated transitions requires more planning than a simple straight run to a two-car garage.

That is why “What do you charge per square foot?” is usually not enough information.

The site matters.

If you are replacing a driveway, I would get more than one contractor to look at the property when possible.

Not simply to collect three prices.

Listen to how they describe the existing problem.

If one contractor recommends an overlay and another says the entire driveway needs to be excavated, ask both to explain why.

You may discover they are looking at the same conditions differently.

Or you may discover they are not actually quoting the same job.

The Garden State Circle guide below helps with the business-verification side of the search.

New Jersey includes residential driveway work within the Home Improvement Contractor Business registration system, and Garden State Circle checks that public registration for the paving contractors included.

That does not guarantee workmanship.

It does tell you the business record exists and can be verified.

I would still ask who is actually doing the work.

Is the crew employed by the company?

Is any part subcontracted?

Who is supervising the job?

Who is your contact if something is wrong afterward?

What does the warranty cover?

What is the payment schedule?

When can vehicles go back on the driveway?

Then read the written estimate closely.

Removal or overlay?

Base preparation?

Compaction?

Grading?

Drainage?

Asphalt courses?

Transitions?

Belgian block?

Disposal?

Sealcoating?

Permits if the project affects the apron or municipal right-of-way?

Those details should not live only in a conversation.

If a contractor says something important is included, I want to see it in the proposal.

This guide is useful if you are searching for paving contractors Morris County NJ, driveway paving Morris County, asphalt driveway replacement, driveway resurfacing, driveway drainage, asphalt repair, blacktop contractors, Belgian block driveway edging, sealcoating, sloped driveway paving or residential paving contractors near me.

The driveway is supposed to direct water away, carry cars and survive New Jersey winters.

Looking great is a bonus.

Getting those first three right is the job.

The Guide: Paving Contractors in Morris County, NJ

New Jersey does not license pavers. It registers home improvement contractors — to a legal entity, not to the name painted on the truck. The number, when one is published, begins 13VH and runs eight digits after it. It is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, and it is free to look up. This guide covers Morris County. The table exists to tell the companies apart on the record, not to tell you which is best.

How We Selected These Companies

Paving contractors that do the paving work themselves and serve Morris County. The registration column shows what the New Jersey home improvement contractor register showed for each business on the date we checked. Sealcoating-only, line-striping-only and masonry-only operators are not on this page. Ten companies are in the table below.

About This Guide

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Companies appear here because they meet the criteria described above — they do the paving work themselves and serve Morris County. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No company can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Companies are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each company’s own website and against the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs registrant record in September 2026.

Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labeled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business.

Which of These Companies Is Actually in These Towns

Of the ten companies on this page, two publish premises in Parsippany-Troy Hills, and one each in Chatham, Boonton, Chester, Mendham, Morris Plains, Denville, Montville and Morristown. Onorati Construction’s own site names only “Boonton” without saying whether that is the Town of Boonton or Boonton Township — two separate municipalities — and we record that ambiguity rather than guess at it.

Checked against the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Home Improvement Contractor registration search.

What the registration is, and what it is not

A 13VH registration means the business has registered with the state and is subject to the Contractors’ Registration Act. It is not a competency examination and it is not a trade license — New Jersey does not test pavers the way it tests electricians, plumbers or heating contractors. It tells you a business exists on the record and can be found again. That is worth having and it is not the same as skill.

The Companies

American Asphalt & Milling Services LLC, Parsippany-Troy Hills — an asphalt paving contractor at 159 Troy Road, also publishing milling, concrete curbs, walks and aprons, and striping. Registration 13VH08351500 is recorded active, under a West Orange registered town rather than the Parsippany-Troy Hills town its own site publishes; we record both and do not decide which is right.

Greik Bros. Paving Inc., Morris Plains — a new-asphalt-driveway contractor at 71 East Hanover Avenue, also publishing lot paving, repair, striping and curbing. Not found by us on the state register under this name.

Harrington and Sons Inc., Chester — an asphalt driveway and pothole-repair contractor at 50 Parker Road, also publishing tar and chip, curbing, milling and sports-court paving. Its own site does not state Borough or Township; not found by us on the state register under this name.

JPG Asphalt, Denville — a parking-lot and driveway paving contractor at 276 East Main Street, also publishing asphalt repairs and sealcoating. Its own site publishes no registration number.

O’Donovan & Sons Paving & Masonry, Morristown — an asphalt and blacktop driveway contractor at 46 South Park Place, also publishing parking lots, commercial asphalt, milling, patching and concrete pavers and patios. Its own site publishes registration number 13VH09958200; not found by us on the state register under this name.

Onorati Construction Co., Inc., Boonton — a milling, paving and road-construction contractor at 111 Cornelia Street, also publishing curb and sidewalk work, striping, drainage and catch basins. Its own site does not state whether its premises sit in the Town of Boonton or Boonton Township; the state records Onorati Construction Co., Inc as active in Boonton.

Pavecraft Paving and Masonry, Parsippany-Troy Hills — an asphalt paving contractor at 2001 Route 46, also publishing sealcoating, concrete driveways, pavers and masonry. Its own site publishes no registration number; the state records Pavecraft Paving & Masonry LLC as active in Parsippany.

Paving Materials & Contracting LLC, Montville — a paving and concrete contractor at 150 River Road, also publishing excavation, grading, roadwork, milling and curbing. Not found by us on the state register under this name.

Rose City Paving and Construction LLC, Chatham — a residential and commercial paving contractor at 8 St James Street, also publishing excavating, Belgian blocking and asphalt sealing. Registration 13VH07540700 is recorded active in Chatham.

Common Questions

Does a paving contractor in Morris County, NJ need a license?

Not a trade license. New Jersey does not examine or license pavers the way it licenses electricians, plumbers and heating contractors. Home improvement contractors register with the state under the Contractors’ Registration Act — the 13VH number. Whether a given paving job falls inside the Act is a question for the state, not for this guide; what we publish is the record we ran.

Why does the registered town not always match the town the business publishes?

A registered office and an operating yard are different things, and a business is entitled to both. Where the two differ on this page, we print both and do not decide which one describes where the work is actually done.

What does it mean when no status is printed for a business?

We print a registration only when the state records it as active on the day we check, and we print nothing else about a named business’s standing.

Who Governs Paving Work in Morris County, NJ

Paving work in New Jersey answers to two state agencies. The registration — the 13VH number in the table above — is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs. The permit belongs to the Uniform Construction Code, N.J.A.C. 5:23, written by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards, and enforced by each municipality’s own construction office, listed below.

Every office above was read from the municipality’s own published pages in September 2026. Chester Borough and Chester Township are two separate municipalities; both are listed rather than one guessed at. Whether a particular paving job needs a permit is interpreted by the town’s own construction office, not by us. We publish what each municipality published, with the date we checked it; confirm with the office before you rely on it.

Something out of date?

This guide is maintained. If anything here is wrong or has changed — a name, an address, a registration number, or whether a business has closed — tell us and we will check it. Businesses listed here are welcome to write in directly, and a company that publishes a registration number we have recorded as absent is exactly the kind of correction we want. And if you run a paving company that should be on this list and is not, write to us. This guide lists paving contractors that do the paving work themselves and serve Morris County.
