Roofing Contractors in Long Branch, Red Bank and the Monmouth Coast, NJ
By Tiffany Slowinski
At the Shore, the roof has a very specific job.
Keep the weather outside.
This sounds basic.
Then New Jersey gives you wind, heavy rain, summer storms and the occasional reminder that water will find the smallest weak point in a house like it has a personal mission.
If you are searching for a roofing contractor in Long Branch, Red Bank, Oceanport, West Long Branch, Monmouth Beach, Rumson, Little Silver, Fair Haven, Deal, Oakhurst, Eatontown or nearby Shore towns, the good news is that this market has its own roofing companies.
The current Garden State Circle guide looks very different from the inland Somerset guides. Many of the companies serving the Monmouth coast are actually based in or right around the market.
That gives you local options.
It does not eliminate the need to compare them.
Start with the problem.
Leak?
Storm damage?
Missing shingles?
Old roof?
Flat-roof issue?
Skylight?
Chimney flashing?
Full replacement?
The correct answer to each one may be a different scope of work.
And with roofing, I want the diagnosis before the sales pitch.
If a contractor recommends replacing the roof, ask why.
Ask for photos.
Ask whether the failure is isolated or systemic.
Ask whether repair is possible and, if it is possible but not recommended, ask why.
There are situations where replacing an aging roof makes more sense than chasing repeated leaks.
You should still understand the reasoning.
New Jersey does not issue a roofer trade license.
Roofing contractors doing home improvement work register with the state under the Home Improvement Contractor system. The number starts with 13VH.
The Garden State Circle guide checks those records for the companies included and compares the registered entity with the name and location the business publishes.
That is important on the Monmouth coast because a search result can look extremely local.
A local-looking address or town landing page does not tell you the whole company record.
The state registration does not tell you the quality of the work either.
It is one layer.
Manufacturer certifications are another.
If a company advertises GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed or another manufacturer certification, ask exactly what level it holds and what enhanced warranty options come with that level.
Then read the estimate.
For Shore homes, pay particular attention to flashing, penetrations, ventilation and the actual roofing system being proposed.
If there are low-slope areas, additions, porches or flat sections, make sure those areas are specifically addressed rather than rolled into one vague sentence called “roof.”
Ask what happens if decking is damaged.
Ask how extra wood is priced.
Ask who removes debris.
Ask about magnetic nail cleanup.
Ask what is protected around the house.
Ask who you call if you see a leak later.
If storm damage is involved, document the condition and understand the roles. A roofer can inspect the physical roof and provide an estimate. Your insurance company decides coverage under your policy.
This guide is useful if you are searching for roofing contractors Long Branch NJ, roofing companies Red Bank NJ, roof repair Oceanport, roofer Rumson NJ, roof replacement Little Silver, storm damage roofing at the Jersey Shore, emergency roof repair, leaking roof, asphalt shingle roofing, flat roof repair or registered roofing contractors near me.
A roof is one of those purchases where the best result is incredibly boring.
No leaks.
No calls.
No surprises.
Exactly what I want.
We did the homework here.

The Guide: Roofing Contractors in Red Bank, NJ
New Jersey does not license roofers. It registers them — and it registers them to a legal entity, not to the name painted on the truck. Every company in this guide holds a Home Improvement Contractor registration: the number that begins 13VH and runs eight digits after it. It is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, it is free to look up, and it takes about ninety seconds.
Red Bank has its own roofers and shares almost none with the Somerset markets forty minutes inland. Four of the six companies in this guide keep premises, or are recorded by the state, inside the towns it covers — two in Middletown, one in Shrewsbury and one in Red Bank. The rest are based in Eatontown and Oceanport.
How We Selected These Companies
This guide covers eight places: Red Bank, Fair Haven, Rumson, Little Silver, Shrewsbury Borough, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and Middletown Township (Lincroft, Navesink, Locust).
A company appears here if it installs, repairs or replaces residential roofs for homeowners in those towns, publishes roofing as a named service on its own website, and holds a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration that the state records as active. For a company based outside the eight towns, its own website has to name one of them, or Monmouth County, as somewhere it works, or its premises have to sit in Monmouth County within a few miles of them. That is the whole test. It is not a test of size, of price, of how long a company has been trading, or of what we think of its work. Six companies meet it and are in the tables.
What a company publishes about itself is not the criterion. It is the content. Where a business publishes a registration number, this guide prints it and reports what the state record says about it. Where a business publishes nothing, this guide says so plainly and dates the statement. Neither is a compliment or a complaint. Both are facts about a website on a particular day.
About This Guide
This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Companies appear here because they meet the criteria described above — they perform residential roofing work for homeowners in the towns this guide covers, publish it as a service, and hold an active state registration. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No company can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Companies are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each company’s own website and against the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs registrant record in September 2026.
Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says.
Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Tiffany and Jake Slowinski and covers Red Bank, Fair Haven, Rumson, Little Silver, Shrewsbury Borough, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and Middletown Township (Lincroft, Navesink, Locust). Which of These Companies Is Actually in Red Bank
Most homeowners asking whether a roofer is “local” are really asking two questions at once: will they come out for a repair rather than only a full replacement, and will they still be reachable in two years if the flashing leaks. Geography is only part of that, and it is the part that is easiest to check — and on the coast, where salt air and nor’easters shorten a roof’s life, it is also the part that decides who answers the phone the morning after a storm.
On geography, All Pro Vinyl Siding is in Middletown, Garden State Roofing & Siding is in Middletown, Home Makeover is in Shrewsbury and Regal Restoration USA is in Red Bank. The second table adds A&J Siding and Roofing in Eatontown and Wilcox Roofing in Oceanport.
A suite address is worth reading for what it is everywhere on this page, and the state registers three of the companies in this guide somewhere other than the town they publish. None of that is a mark against anybody. It is why the table carries both towns.

A Note on Reading the Registration Column
Three of the six companies in the tables publish a New Jersey registration number on their own website. That is the first thing the table shows, and on its own it is only mildly interesting. The second thing it shows is the reason the column is split in two.
The registered town is not always the published town. All Pro Vinyl Siding publishes Middletown and is registered in Hazlet. Regal Restoration USA publishes Red Bank and is registered in Eatontown. A registered office and an operating office are different things and a company is entitled to both — but a homeowner checking a number has no way to know which one they are looking at.
How to check a registration yourself
Search the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee verification for Home Improvement Contractors, using the business search rather than the individual one. You can search by the 13VH number if you have it, or by the beginning of the registered name — the name search matches from the start of the name, so a partial word at the front works and a word from the middle does not. The result gives the registered entity, the number, the status and the town. It is free.
What the registration is, and what it is not
A 13VH registration means the business has registered with the state, carries commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence, and is subject to the Contractors’ Registration Act. It is not a competency examination and it is not a trade license — New Jersey does not test roofers the way it tests electricians, plumbers or heating contractors. It tells you a business exists on the record and can be found again. That is worth having and it is not the same as skill.
Manufacturer certification is the closest thing this trade has to a graded credential, which is why it has its own column. GAF Master Elite, Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster are awarded by the shingle manufacturers, carry installation-training and insurance requirements, and are what makes the long manufacturer warranties available in the first place. Where the column says “GAF directory”, we read the tier off GAF’s own public contractor listing; where it says “as published”, we read it off the company’s site and did not check it at the manufacturer.
The Companies
A&J Siding and Roofing, Eatontown
A&J Siding and Roofing publishes a Reynolds Drive address in Eatontown, its registration, 13VH11829400, and siding, roofs, windows, doors and gutters as its services; its Monmouth County list names Long Branch, West Long Branch, Deal, Eatontown, Red Bank and Shrewsbury, and its locations page claims all twenty-one New Jersey counties. Its site’s title tag spells the name “Sidding”, its phone carries a Westchester area code, and one testimonial block still holds the template’s placeholder text — all plainly visible and none of them a finding about the work. The state records A&J SIDING LLC as active in Tinton Falls.
All Pro Vinyl Siding, Middletown
All Pro Vinyl Siding publishes Middletown as its town and no street, names Monmouth County as its territory, and lists vinyl siding, windows, roofing, decking, doors and home remodeling as its services; its testimonials place jobs in Red Bank, Rumson, Shrewsbury and Eatontown among twenty towns. Bill Groff is named as the proprietor in those testimonials rather than on an about page. It publishes no registration number; the state records ALL PRO VINYL SIDING LLC as active in Hazlet — not Middletown — under 13VH03162800.
Garden State Roofing & Siding, Middletown
Garden State Roofing & Siding works from Palmer Avenue in Middletown, carries a Red Bank location page on its own site alongside Middletown, Hazlet and Marlboro, and publishes roofing repair, replacement and emergency work, commercial rubber and standing-seam roofing, siding, gutters and windows as its services; its site says “since 1970” and names three technicians by first name. It describes itself as GAF Master Elite, which GAF’s directory confirms. It publishes no registration number; the state records GARDEN STATE ROOFING & SIDING INC. as active in Middletown under 13VH00343800.
Home Makeover, Shrewsbury
Home Makeover works from a Princeton Court suite in Shrewsbury, names Monmouth County as its territory with Red Bank, Middletown and Lincroft among its towns, and publishes roof replacement and repair, siding, window replacement, decks and gutters as its services, with “20+ years of experience” on its roofing page. It publishes its registration, 13VH11270100, and the state records HOME MAKEOVER LLC as active in Shrewsbury. Its site withheld most of its text from our reader and its about and contact pages did not load, so this entry is thinner than the company’s own pages would allow.
Regal Restoration USA, Red Bank
Regal Restoration USA publishes Broad Street in Red Bank as its office, its New Jersey registration, 13VH07121700, beside New York and Pennsylvania numbers, and steep-slope and flat roofing, siding and cladding, stucco, coatings and building-envelope restoration as its services. Its site is written for multifamily and commercial buildings — parking garages, clubhouses, corridors — and says it works on “your home or commercial space”; it names no town in this guide as a service area. It describes itself as GAF Authorized and Versico authorized. The state records REGAL RESTORATION USA LLC as active in Eatontown — not Red Bank — and it is here on that premises, with the caveat that a homeowner should read its site before assuming it takes single-family work.
Wilcox Roofing, Oceanport
Wilcox Roofing works from Lake Drive in Oceanport — inside this guide’s towns — and says it was founded in 1978 and has been at it “for the past 45 years”, naming Monmouth County as its territory with Oceanport and Monmouth Beach among its projects. It publishes residential and commercial roofing, siding, gutters, skylights and membrane roofing; GAF’s directory lists it as GAF Master Elite, which its own site does not say. It publishes no registration number; the state records WILCOX ROOFING LLC as active in Oceanport under 13VH00113900.
Two Red Bank Names Google Leads With That Are Not in the Table
Ask Google for a roofer in Red Bank and it leads with four companies. Two of them publish Red Bank addresses and are not in the table, and a homeowner deserves to know why rather than to wonder.
Martin & Sons Roofing & Construction publishes an address on Monmouth Street in Red Bank and a page for the borough; its home page did not load on the day we read it, a sister site under the same name carries a placeholder phone number and a different company’s name in its metadata, and several look-alike domains sit beside it. Neighborhood Roofing publishes a Half Mile Road suite in Red Bank as its headquarters and twenty-nine further New Jersey addresses beneath it, most of them on residential streets, with service claimed in three other states. We searched the state’s registrant record under both names in September 2026 and found no active registration for either. A registration held under an owner’s name or a different legal entity would not surface in the search we ran, and that is common and lawful. We report our search, never their compliance. The day an active registration is on the record under the name on the estimate, either company goes on the page.
Red Bank Roofing, on Maple Avenue, publishes a registration number and a founding year of 1947, and it is not in the table because of the one rule this guide will not bend: we print a registration only when the state records it as active on the day we check, and we print nothing else about a named business’s standing. The day that record reads active, the company goes on the page.
The Question This Table Cannot Answer Yet
Every company in the table lists roof repair as a service. Very few will actually come out and quote a single slipped shingle or a leaking flashing detail on a house they did not roof, and no website in this trade answers that question honestly, because there is no commercial reason to. On the coast, where a nor’easter can lift a course of shingles on a Tuesday night, it is the only question that matters.
We are asking it directly, company by company, and the answers will be published here as they arrive. Every company on this page has been asked. If you have called a roofer in these towns about a small repair, we would like to know what happened — whether they came, how long they took, and whether they quoted the repair or only a replacement. Common Questions
Does a roofer in Red Bank, NJ need a license?
Not a trade license. New Jersey does not examine or license roofers the way it licenses electricians, plumbers and heating contractors. Home improvement contractors register with the state under the Contractors’ Registration Act — the 13VH number — which carries commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence and a written contract for any job over $500. Every company in the table above holds an active registration, and the table says which of them publish it. Whether a given roofing job falls inside the Act is a question for the state, not for this guide; what we publish is the record we ran.
Is a 13VH number the same as a 19HC number?
No. A number beginning 19HC is a Master HVACR contractor’s license, held by a named individual, and it covers heating and cooling work. A number beginning 13VH is a business registration and covers home improvement work including roofing, siding and windows. They are different regimes and a company doing both should hold both.
Why does the registered name not match the company name?
Because registration attaches to a legal entity and trading names are free to differ from it. A company that was renamed, that was acquired, that operates a brand distinct from the corporation behind it, or that is a franchise location of a larger operator will show a registered name that looks unfamiliar. Several companies in this guide do. It is normal, and it is why searching the state registry by the name on your estimate often returns nothing at all.
What does GAF Master Elite actually mean?
It is the top tier of GAF’s contractor programme, restricted by the manufacturer to a limited share of roofing contractors in each area, and it requires proof of licensing where applicable, insurance and ongoing installation training. Its practical consequence for a homeowner is access to GAF’s longest workmanship warranties, which cannot be offered by a non-certified installer. Below it sit GAF Certified Plus and GAF Certified. Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster are the equivalent top tiers in those two programmes. All are checkable in the manufacturer’s own contractor directory.
Does it matter that a roofer is based on the coast rather than travelling in?
Less than most homeowners assume for a scheduled replacement, and more than usual for a repair after a storm, when every roofer within twenty miles is answering the same calls. Roofing crews travel; a company forty minutes out with its own crews may be on site before one down the road that is booked into October. What is worth asking directly is whether the crew on your roof works for the company or for a subcontractor, who owns the warranty if the company changes hands, and — on the coast — whether the shingle and the nailing pattern are rated for the wind zone your town sits in.
Who Governs Roofing Work in Red Bank, NJ
Roofing work in New Jersey answers to two state agencies with confusingly similar names, and they do different things. The registration — the 13VH number in the table above — is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, Regulated Business Section — (973) 504-6370 — which is where the registration check described above is run. The permit belongs to the Uniform Construction Code, N.J.A.C. 5:23, written by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards — (609) 292-7899 — and enforced by each municipality’s own construction office, listed below. New Jersey adopted the 2024 editions of its construction subcodes on August 17, 2026; the one- and two-family dwelling subcode is the International Residential Code 2024, New Jersey edition (N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.21), per the Division’s current-codes table, read September 2, 2026.
| Municipality | Construction permit office, as the town names it | Phone | Construction Official, as published | Hours, as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red Bank Borough | Building Department | 732-530-2760 ext. 0347 | Anthony Neibert (Construction Code Official) | Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:00pm |
Every office above was opened and read on September 2, 2026. Names are published only where the municipality publishes them.
Red Bank titles its head Construction Code Official and publishes a direct extension for every subcode official; its office is on the third floor of borough hall. This guide also covers Fair Haven, Rumson, Little Silver, Shrewsbury Borough, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and Middletown Township (Lincroft, Navesink, Locust), and each is its own municipality with its own construction office. We have not yet opened those offices and do not list them here; the state search above works in every one of them, and the permit office is found on each town’s own website.
Fee schedules are adopted by ordinance and change. Whether a particular job needs a permit is interpreted by the town’s own construction office, not by us. We publish what each municipality published, with the date we checked it — confirm with the office before you rely on it, and if any of it has changed, the correction address at the foot of this page is the fastest way to tell us.

Something out of date?
This guide is maintained. If anything here is wrong or has changed — a name, an address, a registration number, a certification, or whether a business has closed — tell us and we will check it. Businesses listed here are welcome to write in directly, and a company that publishes a registration number we have recorded as absent is exactly the kind of correction we want.
And if you run a roofing company that should be on this list and is not, write to us. We would rather be told than be incomplete. The test is the same one every company here cleared: that you install, repair or replace residential roofs for homeowners in Red Bank, Fair Haven, Rumson, Little Silver, Shrewsbury Borough, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright or Middletown Township (Lincroft, Navesink, Locust), and that you publish that work as a service on your own website. A permit pulled in one of those municipalities, a completed job, or your registration will do it. Show us that and you go on the page.
