Periodontists Near Parsippany, NJ
By Tiffany Slowinski
Parsippany is a good example of why specialist searches should be honest about geography.
The current Garden State Circle guide did not find a periodontics practice meeting the criteria inside Parsippany-Troy Hills itself.
Instead, it lists the nearby specialists in Denville, Chatham, Morristown and Montville.
That is the useful answer.
If your dentist tells you to see a periodontist, you probably care more about the right specialist than whether the address says Parsippany.
A periodontist is a dentist with advanced training in periodontal disease, the gums and bone supporting the teeth, and dental implants.
You may be referred because of gum disease, gum recession, bone loss, tooth mobility, an implant or another issue involving the tissues supporting the teeth.
Most of us hear “specialist” and assume the situation must be dire.
That is not a useful assumption.
General dentists refer to specialists because specialists are trained to evaluate and treat particular problems.
The first consultation should tell you how serious your particular problem is.
That is what I would focus on.
If the issue is gum disease, ask how advanced it is.
If there is bone loss, ask where and how much.
If recession is the reason for referral, ask what is causing it and what the periodontist is trying to prevent or improve.
If you are discussing an implant, ask whether the site has the gum and bone needed and what the treatment sequence would be.
The answer may be straightforward.
It may not be.
Either way, it should make sense by the time you leave.
This is also a very reasonable category for a second opinion.
If you have been given a significant surgical treatment plan and you are uncertain, getting another specialist’s perspective can help you understand whether the recommendations are similar and where they differ.
That is not rude.
It is healthcare.
If surgery is discussed, ask the practical questions.
What is the procedure?
What are the alternatives?
What does recovery involve?
How much time should you plan away from work or exercise?
What can you eat?
What symptoms after the procedure are expected?
What would make the office want you to call?
If sedation or medications are part of the plan, ask what applies to your health history specifically.
Then ask how this connects back to your regular dentist.
Periodontists and general dentists often work together.
An implant may need a restorative dentist for the final tooth.
Periodontal disease may require ongoing maintenance after active treatment.
You should know who owns each piece of the plan.
The Garden State Circle guide checks the New Jersey dental license and periodontics specialty permit for the specialists included.
That is particularly helpful here because you are comparing nearby offices across several towns rather than choosing from a local Parsippany list.
Use this guide if you are searching for periodontists near Parsippany NJ, gum specialist Parsippany, gum recession treatment near me, gum graft specialist, periodontal disease treatment, bone loss around teeth, dental implant specialist near Parsippany or second opinion periodontist Morris County.
The specialist may be one town over.
That is fine.
A 15-minute drive is a much smaller problem than not understanding the treatment.
We did the homework here.

The Guide: Periodontists near Parsippany, NJ
How We Selected These Periodontists
This guide covers Parsippany-Troy Hills.
A practice is on this page when it has a periodontics office in one of those towns and at least one named dentist whose New Jersey dental license the state register showed as Active on September 23, 2026, and who holds a periodontics specialty permit on that register at that office’s town, primary or branch, or a legacy specialty permit that the practice’s own words tie to periodontics. That is a test, not a judgment. Practices are listed alphabetically.
The practices that met the criteria and are nearest to these towns are listed below, each with the town it is based in.
About This Guide
This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Practices appear here because they meet the criteria described above — a periodontics office in the towns named above and at least one named dentist with an Active New Jersey dental license and a periodontics specialty permit. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No practice can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Practices are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each practice’s own website and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee register in September 2026.
Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Where a row carries a verification date, that is when we last checked that business’s record ourselves. A row without one has not been checked recently — that is a fact about our work, not about the business. Nothing on this page is medical advice. Every treatment described here carries risks that depend on your own health and history, and the person to discuss them with is a licensed provider who has examined you.
