New Jersey does not license roofers. It registers them — and it registers them to a legal entity, not to the name painted on the truck. Every company in this guide holds a Home Improvement Contractor registration: the number that begins 13VH and runs eight digits after it. It is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, it is free to look up, and it takes about ninety seconds.

Flemington has a local roofing trade of its own, which the Somerset markets ten miles east mostly do not. Five of the eighteen companies in this guide keep premises, or are recorded by the state, inside the towns it covers — four in Flemington and one in Ringoes. The rest come in from Somerset and Morris counties and from further afield, and every one of them names a town here, or Hunterdon County, on its own website.

How We Selected These Companies

This guide covers five places: Flemington, Raritan Township, Readington Township (Whitehouse Station), East Amwell Township (Ringoes) and Delaware Township (Sergeantsville).

A company appears here if it installs, repairs or replaces residential roofs for homeowners in those towns, publishes roofing as a named service on its own website, and holds a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration that the state records as active. For a company based outside the five towns, its own website has to name one of them, or Hunterdon County, as somewhere it works, or its premises have to sit in Hunterdon County within a few miles of them. That is the whole test. It is not a test of size, of price, of how long a company has been trading, or of what we think of its work. Eighteen companies meet it and are in the tables.

What a company publishes about itself is not the criterion. It is the content. Where a business publishes a registration number, this guide prints it and reports what the state record says about it. Where a business publishes nothing, this guide says so plainly and dates the statement. Neither is a compliment or a complaint. Both are facts about a website on a particular day.

This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Which of These Companies Is Actually in Flemington

Most homeowners asking whether a roofer is “local” are really asking two questions at once: will they come out for a repair rather than only a full replacement, and will they still be reachable in two years if the flashing leaks. Geography is only part of that, and it is the part that is easiest to check.

On geography, Flemington has Fox Chase Contracting on Minneakoning Road and Strober Roofing and Maintenance on Sherwood Court, and the state records two more there — Rivera Roofing Specialists and MFA Roofing — neither of which prints a street address on its own site. Euro Roofing & Siding is in Ringoes, in Hunterdon County. Kepo Siding & Windows is in Hillsborough and Benchmark Siding Co., Lasting Construction & Improvements, Markey Windows, Doors & More, Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater, Proven Contracting, Tetti Roofing, True North Roofing, Tyler Roofing and W.C. Construction are in Bridgewater and Branchburg; OTX Home Remodeling is in Manville and Express Roofing NJ in Flagtown.

A suite address is worth reading for what it is everywhere on this page, and the state registers four of the companies in this guide somewhere other than the town they publish. None of that is a mark against anybody. It is why the table carries both towns.

A Note on Reading the Registration Column

Ten of the eighteen companies in the tables publish a New Jersey registration number on their own website, and one publishes a number that is a digit short. That is the first thing the table shows, and on its own it is only mildly interesting. The second thing it shows is the reason the column is split in two.

The registered name is often not the trading name. Fox Chase Contracting’s registration is held by Fox Chase Maintenance Co LLC. Euro Roofing & Siding is Euro Construction Group LLC. Express Roofing NJ is Express Services LLC. Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater is a franchisee entity. Every one of those is lawful, ordinary and invisible to a homeowner typing a company name into the state’s search box — which matches the registered name from its first letters and returns nothing for the name on the estimate.

The registered town is not always the published town. Strober Roofing and Maintenance publishes Flemington and is registered in Branchburg. Euro Roofing & Siding publishes Ringoes and is registered in Lawrenceville. Proven Contracting publishes Bridgewater and is registered in Livingston, one of the four offices it lists. Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater works from a Bridgewater suite and is registered in Mount Laurel, because the registration belongs to the franchisee. A registered office and an operating office are different things and a company is entitled to both — but a homeowner checking a number has no way to know which one they are looking at.

One company publishes a number a homeowner cannot check. Euro Roofing & Siding prints 13VH1119300 — eleven characters where the state’s format has twelve — and its actual registration is 13VH11193000. A homeowner who typed that published number into New Jersey’s registry would find nothing.

How to check a registration yourself

Search the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee verification for Home Improvement Contractors, using the business search rather than the individual one. You can search by the 13VH number if you have it, or by the beginning of the registered name — the name search matches from the start of the name, so a partial word at the front works and a word from the middle does not. The result gives the registered entity, the number, the status and the town. It is free.

What the registration is, and what it is not

A 13VH registration means the business has registered with the state, carries commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence, and is subject to the Contractors’ Registration Act. It is not a competency examination and it is not a trade license — New Jersey does not test roofers the way it tests electricians, plumbers or heating contractors. It tells you a business exists on the record and can be found again. That is worth having and it is not the same as skill.

Manufacturer certification is the closest thing this trade has to a graded credential, which is why it has its own column. GAF Master Elite, Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster are awarded by the shingle manufacturers, carry installation-training and insurance requirements, and are what makes the long manufacturer warranties available in the first place. Where the column says “GAF directory”, we read the tier off GAF’s own public contractor listing; where it says “as published”, we read it off the company’s site and did not check it at the manufacturer.

The Companies

Benchmark Siding Co., Branchburg

Benchmark Siding Co. is owned and operated by David Carman, who its site says has run it since 2005, and its service-area page names Clinton and Readington Township, with Raritan Township named on its roofing page. Its published services are vinyl siding, cultured stone, window and door installation, roofing installation and cellular PVC trim. It publishes no registration number and no street address; the state records BENCHMARK SIDING CO., LLC as active in Branchburg under 13VH01139200.

Euro Roofing & Siding, Ringoes

Euro Roofing & Siding, which also trades as Euro Construction Group, works from Wertsville Road in Ringoes, in East Amwell Township, with a second address in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, and names Hunterdon County among six New Jersey counties on its own site. It publishes roofing, gutters, siding, windows, doors and decks as its services and names GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, VELUX, Andersen, Marvin and Pella without a tier. The number it prints, 13VH1119300, is one digit short of the state’s twelve-character format; the registration is held by EURO CONSTRUCTION GROUP LLC, active in Lawrenceville — not Ringoes — under 13VH11193000.

Express Roofing NJ, Flagtown

Express Roofing NJ works from Hall Avenue in Flagtown, in Hillsborough Township, and carries a Hunterdon County page on its own site that names Flemington and Readington. It publishes roofing only — installation, replacement, repair, flat roofing, asphalt shingles and cedar shake — and no registration number; the state records the business as EXPRESS SERVICES LLC, active in Flagtown under 13VH11749000, and GAF lists it as GAF Certified, in business since 2023.

Fox Chase Contracting, Flemington

Fox Chase Contracting works from a Minneakoning Road suite in Flemington, names Flemington, Raritan Township, East Amwell, Branchburg and Hunterdon and Somerset counties on its own site, and publishes roofing, roof replacement and repair, siding, decks and gutter protection as its services. It describes itself as family-owned since 1999 and GAF Master Elite, which GAF’s directory confirms with President’s Club. It publishes no registration number; the state records the business as FOX CHASE MAINTENANCE CO LLC, active in Flemington under 13VH04942000 — a registered name that does not appear on the site.

Kepo Siding & Windows, Hillsborough

Kepo Siding & Windows works from Ilene Court in Hillsborough and names Hunterdon County among six New Jersey counties on its service-area page, with Whitehouse Station and Lebanon appearing as project locations on its home page. Its site publishes siding, windows, doors, decks, masonry, trim and — under its own heading — roofing and gutters, saying its teams have been “repairing and replacing roofs across NJ for years”; it describes itself as a James Hardie President’s Award recipient and Andersen certified. It publishes no registration number; the state records KEPO SIDING & WINDOWS LLC as active in Hillsborough under 13VH03778400.

Lasting Construction & Improvements, Bridgewater

Lasting Construction & Improvements works from East Main Street in Bridgewater, publishes its registration, 13VH05440400, and says it serves “Somerset, Morris, Union, and Hunterdon counties”, with Lebanon, Readington Township and Whitehouse among the towns on its own form. It lists roofing, siding, gutters, decks and remodeling as its services and describes “nearly two decades” of work. The state records LASTING CONSTRUCTION & IMPROVEMENTS LLC as active in Bridgewater.

Markey Windows, Doors & More, Bridgewater

Markey Windows, Doors & More works from a showroom on East Main Street in Bridgewater, open seven days, names its founder as Jim Markey, and names Hunterdon among six counties on its portfolio-by-location page. It publishes windows, doors, siding and roofing as services and describes itself as GAF Certified Residential and American Window and Door Institute certified. It publishes no registration number; the state records MARKEY WINDOWS DOORS & MORE LLC — no comma — as active in Bridgewater under 13VH00674000.

MFA Roofing, Flemington

MFA Roofing publishes its registration, 13VH01091900, and roof replacement, repair, chimney flashing, skylights, attic fans, ridge venting and gutter work as its services, the last through a separate gutter company it names. Its site prints no street address and no town, and the towns it names are all in Somerset County — Hillsborough, Bridgewater, Branchburg, Montgomery, Manville. It is here because the state records MFA LLC as active in Flemington and GAF’s directory lists it three miles from the borough as GAF Master Elite; that is a premises the company itself does not publish, and the entry says so. Its site names Manny and Sandra Andrade as founders in 1999 and their daughter Jessica and son-in-law Jay as the current operators.

Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater, Bridgewater

Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater is a franchise location working from a Route 22 East suite in Bridgewater, and its location page names Annandale, Clinton, Flemington, High Bridge, Lebanon, Oldwick and Whitehouse Station among more than a hundred towns. It publishes its registration, 13VH14091100, and lists residential and commercial roofing, siding, gutters, skylights and window repair and replacement as services, with Owens Corning Platinum Preferred among its published credentials. The registration is held by JDC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY LLC DBA MIGHTY DOG ROOFING NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY and is recorded in Mount Laurel, in Burlington County — the franchisee’s registered address rather than the Bridgewater office.

OTX Home Remodeling, Manville

OTX Home Remodeling describes itself as “nestled in the heart of Manville” and names Somerset, Morris, Union and Hunterdon counties as its territory; its published services are windows, roofing, doors, siding, gutters and remodeling. It publishes no registration number and no street address; GAF’s directory lists it on Jackson Avenue in Manville as GAF Certified, in business since 2020, and the state records OTX HOME REMODELING LLC as active in Manville under 13VH11888900.

Proven Contracting, Bridgewater

Proven Contracting works from Thruway Drive in Bridgewater — one of four New Jersey offices it lists, alongside Livingston, Randolph and Long Valley — and carries a Hunterdon County page on its own site naming Flemington, Clinton, Lebanon Township, High Bridge, Readington and Raritan Township among seventeen places. It publishes its registration, 13VH08608400, names David Curcio as managing partner and Ryan Watson as general manager and co-founder, describes itself as GAF Master Elite, James Hardie Certified and Tamko Diamond, and publishes an EPA Lead-Safe firm number, NAT-F124892-3. The state records PROVEN CONTRACTING.COM LLC as active and recorded in Livingston.

Rivera Roofing Specialists, Flemington

Rivera Roofing Specialists is the company Google leads with for a Flemington roofer, and its site names Lito Rivera as owner, claims “30+ Years Experience”, and lists Hunterdon, Somerset, Warren and Mercer counties as its territory on its home page and eight counties on its services page. It publishes roof repair, installation, tear-offs, inspections, leak repair, gutters, skylights and attic fans, calls itself licensed and insured, and prints no registration number and no address. The state records RIVERA ROOFING SPECIALISTS LLC as active in Flemington under 13VH11196200. It is a different company from Rivera Roofing & Remodeling in Bridgewater.

Strober Roofing and Maintenance, Flemington

Strober Roofing and Maintenance publishes Sherwood Court in Flemington as its address, its registration, 13VH08711100, in its footer, and Flemington, Clinton, Lebanon, High Bridge, Whitehouse Station and Readington among the towns it names — the last two with their own spellings. It names Steve, Clint and Dan Strober, says the family has been in roofing “since 1928”, and publishes residential and commercial roofing, inspections, repair and maintenance, metal roofing, gutters and solar, describing itself as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor with HAAG-certified inspectors. Google places it in Neshanic Station; the state records STROBER ROOFING AND MAINTENANCE LLC as active in Branchburg. It is a different company from Strober-Wright Roofing in Lambertville, a commercial roofer.

Tetti Roofing, Bridgewater

Tetti Roofing works from a Grove Street suite in Bridgewater, publishes its registration, 13VH13842500, and does roofing only — replacement, repair, maintenance, inspection and financing — across Somerset, Middlesex and Hunterdon counties. It offers a twenty-year workmanship warranty of its own alongside GAF’s fifty-year manufacturer warranty, and GAF lists it as GAF Certified. The state records TETTI ROOFING LLC as active in Bridgewater.

True North Roofing, Branchburg

True North Roofing publishes its registration, 13VH13971300, describes itself as a GAF Certified Installer with “20+ years experience”, and names Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Middlesex and Mercer counties as its territory. It does roofing — inspections, installations, repairs — and gutters, and publishes no street address; GAF’s directory lists it at a Route 202 suite in Branchburg. The state records TRUE NORTH ROOFING LLC as active in Branchburg.

Tyler Roofing, Bridgewater

Tyler Roofing works from a Route 202 suite in Bridgewater, publishes its registration, 13VH10921200, and carries a Hunterdon County page on its own site naming Flemington, Clinton, Lebanon, High Bridge and Raritan Township among fifteen places. Its published services run from asphalt, cedar, copper, flat, metal and slate roofing to siding, gutters, skylights and window replacement, and its site claims over thirty years of experience. GAF lists it as GAF Certified; the state records TYLER ROOFING LLC as active in Bridgewater.

W.C. Construction, Bridgewater

W.C. Construction works from Washington Valley Road in Bridgewater, publishes its registration, 13VH10064100, and names Hunterdon County among six on its service-areas page, with no Hunterdon town. Its site describes the company as GAF Certified and names CertainTeed Master Shingle and ProVia among its credentials; its own pages give its tenure two ways — “over a decade” and “over 30 years” — so we quote both. The state records WC CONSTRUCTION LLC as active in Bridgewater.

The Question This Table Cannot Answer Yet

Every company in the table lists roof repair as a service. Very few will actually come out and quote a single slipped shingle or a leaking flashing detail on a house they did not roof, and no website in this trade answers that question honestly, because there is no commercial reason to. It is, for most homeowners most of the time, the only question that matters.

We are asking it directly, company by company, and the answers will be published here as they arrive. One has landed already: Proven Contracting told us plainly that yes, they do small repairs. Every other company on this page has been asked the same question. Common Questions

Does a roofer in Flemington, NJ need a license?

Not a trade license. New Jersey does not examine or license roofers the way it licenses electricians, plumbers and heating contractors. Home improvement contractors register with the state under the Contractors’ Registration Act — the 13VH number — which carries commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence and a written contract for any job over $500. Every company in the table above holds an active registration, and the table says which of them publish it. Whether a given roofing job falls inside the Act is a question for the state, not for this guide; what we publish is the record we ran.

Is a 13VH number the same as a 19HC number?

No. A number beginning 19HC is a Master HVACR contractor’s license, held by a named individual, and it covers heating and cooling work. A number beginning 13VH is a business registration and covers home improvement work including roofing, siding and windows. They are different regimes and a company doing both should hold both.

Why does the registered name not match the company name?

Because registration attaches to a legal entity and trading names are free to differ from it. A company that was renamed, that was acquired, that operates a brand distinct from the corporation behind it, or that is a franchise location of a larger operator will show a registered name that looks unfamiliar. Several companies in this guide do. It is normal, and it is why searching the state registry by the name on your estimate often returns nothing at all.

What does GAF Master Elite actually mean?

It is the top tier of GAF’s contractor programme, restricted by the manufacturer to a limited share of roofing contractors in each area, and it requires proof of licensing where applicable, insurance and ongoing installation training. Its practical consequence for a homeowner is access to GAF’s longest workmanship warranties, which cannot be offered by a non-certified installer. Below it sit GAF Certified Plus and GAF Certified. Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster are the equivalent top tiers in those two programmes. All are checkable in the manufacturer’s own contractor directory.

Does it matter that a roofer is based in Hunterdon rather than travelling in?

Less than most homeowners assume, and here you have a real choice either way, which is not true in every market we cover. Roofing crews travel, and a full replacement is a scheduled job rather than an emergency call; a company forty minutes out with its own crews may be on site before one down the road that is booked into October. What is worth asking directly is whether the crew on your roof works for the company or for a subcontractor, and who owns the warranty if the company changes hands.

Who Governs Roofing Work in Flemington, NJ

Roofing work in New Jersey answers to two state agencies with confusingly similar names, and they do different things. The registration — the 13VH number in the table above — is issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, Regulated Business Section — (973) 504-6370 — which is where the registration check described above is run. The permit belongs to the Uniform Construction Code, N.J.A.C. 5:23, written by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards — (609) 292-7899 — and enforced by each municipality’s own construction office, listed below. New Jersey adopted the 2024 editions of its construction subcodes on August 17, 2026; the one- and two-family dwelling subcode is the International Residential Code 2024, New Jersey edition (N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.21), per the Division’s current-codes table, read September 2, 2026.

Every office above was opened and read on September 2, 2026. Names are published only where the municipality publishes them.

Flemington’s Construction / Zoning Department no longer takes inspection requests by phone; they go through the SDL portal.

Lebanon Borough, High Bridge Borough, Readington Township — which is where Whitehouse Station sits — and Tewksbury Township, which holds Oldwick, each have their own construction office. We have not yet opened those offices and do not list them here; the state search above works in every one of them, and the permit office is found on each town’s own website.
