Replacing Siding or Windows in New Jersey: What I’d Want to Know Before I Spend the Money
By Tiffany Slowinski
There are few home projects less exciting to spend money on than windows you already have.
At least with a new kitchen, you get to stare at something pretty when it is over.
With windows, the dream is basically that they open, close, keep the weather outside and stop making the room next to them feel 12 degrees colder than the rest of the house.
Siding is slightly more fun because it can completely change how your house looks. It is also the kind of project where one estimate turns into a conversation about house wrap, trim, insulation, flashing and five other things I did not know I was supposed to have an opinion about.
I do not want to become an expert in siding or windows.
I want to know enough to make a smart decision.
Do I actually need to replace this?
This would be my first question.
A drafty room does not automatically mean every window in the house needs to go. Siding that looks tired does not necessarily mean the entire exterior has failed.
Before someone gives me a giant replacement number, I want to know what is actually wrong.
Can it be repaired? Is the problem the window itself, the installation around it or something else? Is the siding damaged or do I just hate the color?
There is a big difference between “this needs to be replaced” and “if you are planning to stay here another 15 years, this is probably the right time to replace it.”
I want the person who can explain that difference.
If I replace the windows, what am I actually buying?
Window shopping gets technical very quickly.
There are different materials, glass packages, styles, manufacturers and installation methods. Then everyone starts talking about efficiency ratings and suddenly I am pretending I know what all of the numbers mean.
I do not.
What I actually care about is much simpler.
Will these windows make the house more comfortable? Will they be easier to open and clean? Will they reduce drafts? Will they look right with the house? What maintenance will they need? How long should I reasonably expect them to last?
And I want to understand exactly what is being replaced.
Is the contractor installing a replacement window into the existing frame, or removing everything and doing a full-frame replacement? Why are they recommending one over the other for my house?
That answer matters a lot more to me than a brochure with 14 performance charts.
Will the new siding make my house look better or just newer?
This is probably the question women are actually asking.
Because technically new siding can be perfectly good and still make a beautiful house look cheap.
I would want to see completed homes that are similar to mine.
Not one perfect manufacturer photo.
Actual houses.
Show me the trim around the windows. Show me the corners. Show me how you handled the front entry, soffits and architectural details. Show me what the house looks like from the street when everything is finished.
The siding itself is only part of what you are looking at.
The details are what make the house feel polished instead of wrapped in plastic.
Vinyl, fiber cement, wood or something else?
This is where I want someone to ask me questions before giving me an answer.
How much maintenance am I willing to do?
How long do I expect to stay in the house?
What style is the house?
What does the neighborhood look like?
How important is the exact color or texture to me?
There is not one siding material that automatically makes sense for every house.
I would be suspicious of anyone who recommends the same thing before they have even looked at mine.
Should I do the siding and windows at the same time?
Maybe.
If both projects are coming soon anyway, there can be practical reasons to coordinate them. The window trim, flashing and siding all meet in the same places.
That does not mean I am signing up for a second major project because somebody tells me it is “easier while we are here.”
Show me why.
What gets done differently if I do them together? What would have to be redone later if I separate them? Is there an actual savings or just convenience?
If doing both makes sense, great.
I just want the math and the reasoning before we turn one project into two.
What happens when you take the old siding off?
This would be high on my list because houses have a funny habit of hiding expensive things.
What happens if you find rot?
What if the sheathing underneath needs repair?
What if the house wrap is missing or damaged?
Is any of that included in the quote? If not, how will additional work be priced?
I am fine with the reality that nobody can see through my walls.
I am less fine with a vague contract followed by a series of surprises once half the house is exposed.
Tell me what you can know now and what could reasonably change later.
Who is actually doing the work?
This is one I would ask directly.
Is the crew working on my house employed by the company I hired or subcontracted?
If it is subcontracted, that is not automatically a problem.
I just want to know.
Who supervises the job? Who do I call if something does not look right? Who is responsible for the workmanship warranty after the project is finished?
Your salesperson may be wonderful.
They are probably not the person who will be standing on the ladder outside your bedroom window.
Is the contractor actually registered in New Jersey?
This sounds basic, but it is worth checking.
Siding and window contractors in New Jersey are home improvement contractor businesses. The state requires them to register, and the registration number begins with 13VH.
That is a registration, not a trade license or a test of how talented someone is.
Still, I want the company doing a major exterior project on my house to exist in the state record.
One thing we found while researching this guide is that the name on a contractor’s website does not always match the legal business name in the state database. The office town can be different too.
That does not automatically mean anything is wrong.
It does mean Googling a company name is not always enough to verify it.
That is why we did it for you.
If my house was built before 1978, I would ask one more question
A lot of homes in and around Warren are older.
Federal lead-safe renovation rules apply when siding or window replacement disturbs painted surfaces on homes built before 1978.
I am not asking the homeowner to become an expert in federal regulations either.
I would simply ask the contractor: Is my house old enough for the lead-safe rule to apply, and does your company have the certification required for this work?
That is a much better question to ask before the siding comes off.
What exactly is included in this quote?
This is where I slow down.
What product line are you installing?
What trim is included?
What happens around windows and doors?
Is removal and disposal of the old material included?
Who handles permits if they are needed?
What is the workmanship warranty?
What does the manufacturer warranty cover?
What could cost extra once the project begins?
If two estimates are $15,000 apart, I want to know why.
Sometimes one contractor is more expensive.
Sometimes the two contractors are not actually quoting the same job.
Those are very different things.
I care a lot about how someone explains all of this
This is probably my biggest test with any contractor.
Can you explain what my house needs without making me feel like an idiot?
Can you tell me what matters and what is optional?
Can you say, “You do not need to spend money on that right now”?
That last one earns a lot of trust with me.
I do not need the cheapest person.
I want the person whose explanation makes sense.
So how do you narrow down the list?
That is why Garden State Circle built this guide differently.
We started with companies that actually publish siding or window work in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook or the surrounding Somerset County area, then checked their New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration against the state record.
The guide currently includes 27 companies.
We show you the company name, where it says it is located, what services it publishes and what the state registration actually says.
We are not ranking them.
A state registration cannot tell you whether someone will do beautiful work. A five-star review cannot tell you whether they are the right contractor for your particular house.
What we can do is give you a much better place to start.
Because if I am spending this much money on the outside of my house, I want more than a pretty website and a yard sign.
I want to know who I am hiring, what they are actually proposing and why it makes sense for my house.
The Guide: Siding and Window Contractors in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook, NJ
Siding and window work in New Jersey is registered, not licensed. Every company that re-sides a house or replaces its windows for a homeowner is required to hold a Home Improvement Contractor registration — the number that begins 13VH — and the state records that registration to a legal entity and a town, both of which are frequently not the ones on the company’s website. The registration is free to check and takes ninety seconds. This guide does it for twenty-seven companies serving Warren, Watchung and Green Brook.
Two of the twenty-seven companies in the table work from inside these three towns — David Anderson Construction on Stirling Road in Watchung and Liam’s Construction in Green Brook — and three more businesses are registered in them without a website we could test, named further down. Everyone else travels in, mostly up the 22 and 78 corridors from Bridgewater, Branchburg and Somerville, and every entry says exactly where from.
How We Selected These Companies
A company appears here if it installs or replaces residential siding or windows for homeowners in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook, publishes that work as a named service on its own website, and holds a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration that the state records as active. For a company based outside the towns, its own website has to name one of them or Somerset County as somewhere it works, or its premises have to sit in Somerset County within a few miles of the line.
The geography this guide covers is Warren, Watchung and Green Brook. The test is applied the same way in both directions: every company that meets it is listed, and no company that fails it is in the table — including businesses registered inside the towns, which are named below the table instead when the second half of the test could not be run.
About This Guide
This guide is produced by Garden State Circle. Companies appear here because they meet the criteria described above — they install or replace residential siding or windows for homeowners in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook, publish that work on their own website, and hold an active New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration. That is a test, not a judgment, and it is the only route onto this page. No company can pay to be included in this guide, to be listed higher, or to change what the comparison table says about it. Companies are listed alphabetically, and every detail in the table was verified against each company’s own website and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs registry in September 2026.
Everything under the heading that begins this guide is governed by the rules above, on every guide we publish. Where a sponsor’s message appears above that heading, it is paid for and labelled, and it buys nothing in the guide. Garden State Circle is supported by the businesses that participate in it. Participation pays for our ongoing work: keeping a business’s entry accurate, re-checking its record, and publishing a page of its own details that the business maintains. There is no paid placement in this guide. Participation does not buy a place here, a position here, or anything the comparison table says. Every detail here was verified on the date shown on this page.
Garden State Circle is published in New Jersey by Tiffany and Jake Slowinski and covers Warren, Watchung and Green Brook. Contact the publisher at jake@gardenstatecircle.com. How every guide is made, in one place: how every guide is made.
Which of These Companies Is Actually in These Towns
Working from inside the three towns: David Anderson Construction publishes 301 Stirling Road in Watchung, and Liam’s Construction works from Green Brook. Three more registrations are recorded in the towns — Ace Exterior Solutions and TNC Home Improvement General in Watchung and Warren, and Doctor Scrubs Contracting & Exterior Solutions in Warren — and those three are below the table, because neither company publishes a website we could read the second test from.
Close by: MD Contracting & Roofing is in Martinsville on the far side of the First Watchung Mountain, Powell’s Roofing & Siding is one county east in Garwood, and the Bridgewater, Branchburg, Hillsborough and Somerville companies come up the 22/287 corridor. Travelling further, and each naming one of these towns or Somerset County on its own site: Hunterdon Roofing, Siding & Window Company from Lebanon, Magnolia Home Remodeling Group from Union, Matute Roofing from Towaco, New Jersey Siding & Windows from Randolph, Blue Nail Exteriors from Montville and Superior Siding & Windows from Rockaway.
Several of the addresses in the table are office suites rather than yards, and the state registers five companies here somewhere other than the town they publish. None of that is a mark against anybody. It is why the table carries both towns.

Registrations, registered entity names, statuses and towns were verified against the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs registrant record, and services against each company’s own website, in September 2026. Companies are listed alphabetically. This is not a ranking.
A Note on Reading the Registration Column
Sixteen of the twenty-seven companies in the table publish a New Jersey registration number on their own website. That is the first thing the table shows, and on its own it is only mildly interesting. The second thing it shows is the reason the column is split in two.
The registered name is often not the trading name. Bellari Home Remodeling’s registration is held by Somerville Aluminum Co., Inc. — the name the company traded under for decades. MD Contracting & Roofing is registered as Michael & Danielle Deegan Contracting LLC. Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater is registered to JDC Property Management Company LLC. Tony Balsamo & Son is registered as Tony Balsamo Siding Contractor, Inc. Every one of those is lawful, ordinary and invisible to a homeowner typing a company name into the state’s search box — which matches the registered name from its first letters and returns nothing for the name on the estimate.
The registered town is often not the town on the website either — an accountant’s address, a home office, a franchise parent, in one case here another state. Where a business publishes a registration number, this guide prints it and reports what the state record says about it. Where a business publishes nothing, this guide says so plainly and dates the statement. Neither is a compliment or a complaint.
How to check a registration yourself
Search the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs licensee verification for Home Improvement Contractors, using the business search rather than the individual one. You can search by the 13VH number if you have it, or by the beginning of the registered name — the name search matches from the start of the name, so a partial word at the front works and a word from the middle does not. The result gives the registered entity, the number, the status and the town. It is free.
What the registration is, and what it is not
The Home Improvement Contractor registration is a consumer-protection registration: it puts a legal entity, a town and an insurance requirement on the record behind the name on the truck. It squarely covers siding and window work. What it is not is a competency license — the state does not examine a siding crew the way it examines a master plumber — and it is not a manufacturer certification. It proves who you are dealing with, not how the job will go. A registration held under an owner’s name or a different legal entity would not surface in the searches we ran, and that is common and lawful. We report our search, never their compliance.
The One Certification Almost Nobody in This Guide Publishes
The federal Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting rule applies to any house built before 1978. Siding tear-off and window replacement both trigger it by definition, because both disturb painted surfaces on the outside of the house. A firm doing that work on a pre-1978 house is required to hold its own EPA Lead-Safe firm certification, with a firm number, separate from anything the state issues. In these towns that is a street-by-street question: Green Brook’s older blocks and the borough core of Watchung predate 1978, Warren’s earliest sections do too, and the newer estate streets mostly do not. The year built for any address is on the township’s tax record.
One company in this guide publishes an EPA Lead-Safe firm number: Proven Contracting, NAT-F124892-3. The rest publish nothing either way, which is not a finding about whether they hold it — EPA no longer runs a public directory a homeowner can check, so we could not check it for them, and we do not print a column we cannot fill honestly. What a homeowner can do is ask for the number rather than a reassurance, and check the house’s year built on the municipal tax record before signing. We have asked the companies on this page for their numbers, and the answers will be published here as they arrive.
The Companies
Bellari Home Remodeling, Branchburg
Bellari Home Remodeling works from Branchburg with siding, windows and roofing, and is the current trading name of Somerville Aluminum Co., Inc. — the entity that has held its registration since the aluminum-siding era, and the only place the word Somerville appears in its record. The state records SOMERVILLE ALUMINUM CO., INC as active in Branchburg under 13VH01723200; the number is not on its site.
Benchmark Siding Co., Branchburg
Benchmark Siding Co. is a Branchburg company whose own pages carry vinyl siding, cultured stone, windows and doors, PVC trim and roofing installation, and whose service-area copy names Somerset County. The state records BENCHMARK SIDING CO., LLC as active in Branchburg under 13VH01139200; the number is not on its site.

David Anderson Construction, Watchung
David Anderson Construction works from 301 Stirling Road in Watchung, publishing siding services, window installation and replacement, roofing and remodeling. The state records DAVID ANDERSON CONSTRUCTION LLC as active in Watchung under 13VH06606300; the number is not on its site.
Hammer Exteriors, Somerset
Hammer Exteriors publishes siding, doors and windows, gutters and roofing from an office park in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, and its areas page names Somerville, Bridgewater, Hillsborough and Bound Brook. The state records HAMMER EXTERIORS LLC as active in South Plainfield — a registered town one county over from the office it publishes; both are in the table.
Hunterdon Roofing, Siding & Window Company, Lebanon
Hunterdon Roofing, Siding & Window Company is a third-generation Lebanon company trading since 1974. The number on its site, PA161132, is a Pennsylvania registration; its New Jersey record sits under HUNTERDON SIDING & WINDOW COMPANY LLC., active in Lebanon, 13VH00209500. Both are in the table — the mismatch is on its website, not in its standing.
Kepo Siding & Windows, Hillsborough
Kepo Siding & Windows is a siding and window company on Ilene Court in Hillsborough whose published services now run to doors, decks, roofing and gutters, masonry and trim. It describes a James Hardie President’s Award and Andersen certification on its own pages — printed here as its words. The state records KEPO SIDING & WINDOWS LLC as active in Hillsborough under 13VH03778400; the number is not on its site.
Lasting Construction & Improvements, Bridgewater
Lasting Construction & Improvements works from Bridgewater with siding, gutters, decks and roofing — windows are not among its published services — and its service pages name Manville and Somerset County. It publishes 13VH05440400; the state records LASTING CONSTRUCTION & IMPROVEMENTS LLC as active in Bridgewater.
Levs Construction, Somerville

Its registration, 13VH07755300, is in its footer; the state records MAGNOLIA HOME REMODELING GROUP INC as active in Union.
Markey Windows, Doors & More, Bridgewater
Markey Windows, Doors & More is the one company in this guide with a showroom — on East Main Street in Bridgewater, open seven days — and leads with windows and doors, with siding and roofing beside them. It names its founder as Jim Markey. The state records MARKEY WINDOWS DOORS & MORE LLC as active in Bridgewater under 13VH00674000; the number is not on its site.
Matute Roofing, Wayne
Matute Roofing publishes siding, windows and doors alongside its roofing, prints NJ License #13VH10366000 on its site, and gives a Wayne address — while the state records MATUTE ROOFING INC as active in Towaco. Both towns are in the table.
MD Contracting & Roofing, Martinsville
MD Contracting & Roofing is based in Martinsville, on the far side of the First Watchung Mountain from Warren, with siding, gutters, masonry and roofing, and publishes 13VH11396100; the state records MICHAEL & DANIELLE DEEGAN CONTRACTING LLC DBA MD CONTRACTING as active in Bridgewater. One reading note: its own county list includes Somerset — and a Warren that sits among counties, which is Warren County in the northwest, not Warren Township.
Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater, Bridgewater
Mighty Dog Roofing of Bridgewater is the local office of a national franchise, publishing siding, windows, gutters, skylights and roofing, and 13VH14091100. The state records the registration to JDC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY LLC DBA MIGHTY DOG ROOFING NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY in Mount Laurel — the franchise entity’s town rather than the office’s. A franchise office is a real premises and the registration is real; they are simply in different places, and the table prints both.
New Jersey Siding & Windows, Randolph
New Jersey Siding & Windows works from Randolph with siding, windows, doors, decking and attic insulation, and publishes 13VH03088700; the state records NEW JERSEY SIDING & WINDOWS INC as active in Randolph. Its Somerset County replacement-window page names Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Somerset and Montgomery by name.

Proven Contracting, Bridgewater
Proven Contracting publishes siding, windows and roofing from four New Jersey offices — Bridgewater among them — and is the one company in this guide that publishes an EPA Lead-Safe firm number, NAT-F124892-3. It names David Curcio as managing partner and Ryan Watson as general manager and co-founder, and describes itself as James Hardie Certified. Its registration, 13VH08608400, is on its site; the state records PROVEN CONTRACTING.COM LLC as active in Livingston — one of the four.
Spartan Roofing, Somerset
Spartan Roofing works from the Somerset section of Franklin Township with roof replacement and repair first and siding, gutters and chimney work beside them. It publishes 13VH12613900; the state records SPARTAN GENERAL CONSTRUCTION LLC as active in Somerset.
Superior Siding & Windows, Rockaway
Superior Siding & Windows carries a Somerset County service page and works from Rockaway. It names Alside, ProVia and Marvin as brands and no certification tier, and publishes no registration number and no street address; the state records SUPERIOR SIDING & WINDOWS, LLC as active in Rockaway under 13VH01107800.
Times Siding and Windows, Branchburg
Times Siding and Windows has installed siding, replacement windows and doors from Branchburg since 1981, and its service pages name every town this guide covers. Both are in the table.

It publishes 13VH12353900 alongside Pennsylvania’s PA191643; the state records WAL CONTRACTING LLC as active in Franklin Park.
Registered here, and the second test could not be run
The state records these registrations inside the guide’s towns. Our second test — the trade published as a named service on the company’s own website, or a listing in a manufacturer’s own contractor directory — could not be run for them, so they are named here rather than placed in the table, with the record as the state holds it.
Ace Exterior Solutions LLC holds an active registration recorded in Watchung, 13VH14059600. We could find no website of its own and no siding or window manufacturer directory listing, so neither half of the second test could be run in September 2026. If that changes — or if the company writes in — the table changes.
Doctor Scrubs Contracting & Exterior Solutions LLC holds an active registration recorded in Warren, 13VH13821800. Its own site would not open for us in September 2026, and nothing we could reach published siding or window work as a service. If that changes — or if the company writes in — the table changes.
TNC Home Improvement General, LLC holds an active registration recorded in Warren, 13VH06087100. Directory listings place it on Mount Bethel Road in Warren with siding among its trades, but it publishes no website of its own that we could read the second test from, September 2026. If that changes — or if the company writes in — the table changes.
Named Here, and Not in the Table
Two companies verified for our Bridgewater guide are named here and not in the table. Intira LLC describes its territory as “Central and Northern New Jersey”; RDS Remodeling describes its territory as “Central New Jersey.” Neither names a town in this guide, and neither names Somerset County. A company that trades from somewhere else is here only if it says on its own site that it works in one of these places, or that it works in Somerset County — and the day their own pages say otherwise, the table changes.
The Question This Table Cannot Answer Yet
Almost every company here publishes both siding and windows, and most publish roofing, decks or masonry beside them. What no website says is which of those the company does with its own crew and which it subcontracts, and it is the single fact most likely to decide how the job goes. We are asking it, company by company, together with the Lead-Safe question above, and the answers will be published in this table as they arrive. If you have had siding or windows done in Warren, Watchung or Green Brook by a company on this page, write to admin@gardenstatecircle.com and tell us who actually turned up.
Common Questions
Does a siding or window installer in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook need a license?
New Jersey registers home-improvement businesses rather than licensing the trade: the company holds a Home Improvement Contractor registration — the 13VH number — recorded to a legal entity and a town. Every company in the table holds an active registration, and the table says which of them publish it. Whether a particular job also needs a construction permit is the construction office’s call, and the offices are listed below.
Is my house old enough for the lead rule to apply?
The federal rule turns on one fact: built before 1978. In these towns that is a street-by-street question: Green Brook’s older blocks and the borough core of Watchung predate 1978, Warren’s earliest sections do too, and the newer estate streets mostly do not. The year built for any address is on the township’s tax record. If the house qualifies, ask the installer for its EPA Lead-Safe firm number — a number, not a reassurance.
What should a siding or window contract actually say?
The business’s registered legal name beside the name on the estimate — the split this guide’s table exists to show — the registration number, the manufacturer and product line by name, the scope wall by wall or opening by opening, and who files with the construction office if a permit is needed. We keep a longer answer on the record: what should be in a roofing or siding contract.
Why does the registered name not match the company name?
Because the state records the legal entity, and companies trade under the name their customers know. A decades-old corporation keeps its registration while the brand changes; a franchise office registers under the franchise entity; a family LLC trades under a shorter name. It is lawful and ordinary — and it is why this guide prints the registered name and town beside the published one, so a homeowner’s own search matches what the state actually holds.
What does a manufacturer certification actually get me?
Access to that manufacturer’s longer warranties, and a signal the company installs enough of the product to hold the tier — manufacturer programs are earned on volume and training. Several companies in this guide describe certifications on their own sites, and the entries print those as the company’s own words. If a certification matters to your decision, ask the installer to show you the manufacturer’s own listing or portal record — that is the version worth relying on.
Is a “Warren, NJ” contractor the same as a Warren County one?
Usually not. Warren Township is here in Somerset County; Warren County is sixty miles north-west. Contractor websites mix them up constantly — a “Warren” filed in a list of counties beside Hunterdon and Sussex is the county; a “Warren” beside Watchung and Basking Ridge is the township. This guide reads every service-area claim that way before counting it.
Who is the best siding contractor in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook?
There is no single best, and this page does not rank. How to choose from a complete list: decide the product first — vinyl, fiber cement, wood — because manufacturer experience differs company to company; match the company to the house, since a pre-1978 tear-off needs the lead question answered and an older borough house is a different job from a new estate wall; check the registration against the state record, which the table above has already done and dated; and get the scope in writing opening by opening. Every company here cleared the same test on the same day — the choosing is yours.
Who Governs Siding and Window Work in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook, NJ
Siding and window replacement in New Jersey sits under two agencies doing different jobs. The Division of Consumer Affairs holds the Home Improvement Contractor registration — the 13VH number this guide checks. Construction permits and inspections run under the state’s Uniform Construction Code, administered by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards, and enforced at each municipality’s construction office; the building subcode governs exterior cladding and window work, under the 2024 code editions New Jersey adopted on August 17, 2026, per the Division’s current-codes table.
| Municipality | Construction office | Phone | Construction Official, as published | Hours, as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warren | Construction Code office, 46 Mountain Boulevard, Warren | Not published on the township’s site | Not published on the township’s site | Not published |
| Watchung | Building / Construction Department, 15 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung | (908) 756-6093 ext. 219 | Dan Niro, Construction Official | Mon–Thu 8:00am–4:00pm · Fri 8:00am–1:00pm |
| Green Brook | Construction Department, 111 Greenbrook Road, Green Brook | 732-968-1023 ext. 6606 | Frank LaGuarina, Construction Official | Mon–Fri 8:30am–4:00pm |
Warren Township’s construction office publishes no staff names on the township’s own site — the office exists, the town describes it by function, and this table says exactly that rather than borrowing a name from anywhere else. Checked September 4, 2026. One more thing a reader here may as well know: the same construction officials serve more than one town in this part of the county — Green Brook’s construction official also holds Manville’s counter, and Watchung’s holds North Plainfield’s — which is why some offices keep narrow hours.
Offices, officials and hours are as each municipality published them, with the date we checked. Fee schedules are adopted by ordinance and change. Whether a particular job needs a permit is interpreted by the town’s own construction office, not by us. We publish what the municipality published, with the date we checked it — confirm with the office before you rely on it, and if any of it has changed, the correction address at the foot of this page is the fastest way to tell us.

Something out of date?
This guide is maintained. If anything here is wrong or has changed — a name, an address, a registration number, a certification, or whether a business has closed — tell us at admin@gardenstatecircle.com and we will check it. Businesses listed here are welcome to write in directly, and a company that publishes a registration number we have recorded as absent is exactly the kind of correction we want.
A company that is not in this guide and believes it should be can say so at the same address. The test it has to meet is the one printed at the top of this page: siding or window work for homeowners in Warren, Watchung and Green Brook, published as a named service on its own website, and a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration the state records as active.
